There’s More to It Than That

Steel, graphite, charcoal

Holocaust stories became part of my life at an early age, vague at first, details and information crept in gradually over years. Forming an identity in opposition to violence & genocide, exploring how close this hovering threat is at the moment, approaching the content at times, withdrawing from it at others. Balancing responsibility to remember and educate with the need to shield oneself and one’s children from unfathomable horror. At times finding the sacred, renewal, and new life within the darkness, at other times finding only bleaker and more harrowing depths. And perpetually, vigilantly, defending this truth.
